Tuks continued their resurgence and handed out a ‘netballing’ lesson to the Madibaz at the Coetzenburg Indoor Centre on Monday night, winning67-39.

The ladies from Port Elizabeth, who had recorded an impressive string of victories leading up to this match, had no answer for the pace and power from Pretoria.

Tuks scored first and while the Madibaz equalized thereafter it was one-way traffic for a few minutes, with Tuks leading 14-7. Madibaz managed to score few goals to make it 14-10 but Tuks had the last say of the quarter, sinking a goal to lead 15-10.

The second quarter saw Tuks continue to keep the score ticking over and after using the power play very well they were cruising at 33-18, before ending the half with a 36-19 lead.

Despite the Madibaz being the first to score after the break the ladies from Pretoria were not in a charitable mood and another power play saw them extend their lead to 18 goals! The bonus point was wrapped up at 50-27 and coach Jenny van Dyk would be very impressed that her charges played to the final whistle. The final score of 67-39 sees Tuks continue climbing up the ladder and the Madibaz will have to quickly regroup ahead of their next match. Tuks face UJ and VUT over the bumper weekend while Madibaz have a tough task as the will battle Kovsies and NWU.
