NWU-Mafikeng to pull out all the stops against Wits

NWU-Mafikeng are expected to pull out all the stops in their next and final game against Wits University on 1 September 2016 at the Wits Stadium in their bid to try and secure a place in the 2016 Varsity Football semi-finals.

Following a great display of football in what was dubbed a nail-biting game against CUT on 29 August 2016, ending in a goalless draw, NWU-Mafikeng has a chance to right the wrongs of their past matches and blow full steam ahead to a secure a spot in the semi-finals of this year’s tournament.

In a statement released shortly after Monday’s game by the team manager, Vuyo Sambo, sent out a big thank you to everyone for their and encouragement thus far. He further made a plea to the NWU-Mafikeng Blue Army to come together and unite behind the team as they head into the make or break game against Wits on Thursday.

“After our first game every one wrote us off,” said the NWU-Mafikeng team coach, Amos Xabanisa. “Going into our Thursday game with Wits we have only one thing in mind; to win. Having learnt valuable lessons from our game with CUT, I am confident the team will deliver what is expected,” Xabanisa concluded.

NWU-Mafikeng play Wits at the Wits Stadium. That match kicks off at 18:00 and will be live on SuperSport 10.
NWU-Mafikeng team to face Wits: Amogelang Maduo (GK); Tshepo Desmond, Mojuda Matlhanyane, Sifiso Ngwenya, Wendelle Martin, Sipho Mateis, Vusumuzi Ludwala, Sandile Mbatha (c), Orebotse Mongae, Mogomotsi Molefe, Thapelo Tlabakwe.
Subs: Luzuko Jevuka (GK); Thabang Makgwane, Tshepo Baholo, Katlego Banda, Tshepo Mediro, Koketso Motsile, Tebogo Mokgobo.
