With the 2017 Varsity Football season nearing the end, the men form Alice have yet again found themselves staring down the barrel, and hard questions are being asked by the fans, the community of Alice, and the university.

After four straight losses, and not a single goal scored, the men from Alice are yet to register a goal or a point in this year’s Varsity Football campaign. This comes after yet another heart-breaking loss to the University of Johannesburg – three goals to none.

“It’s crunch time,” said head coach Charles Hanyani. “Teams want to secure a top-four finish, and here we are, fighting to not end at the bottom of the log. It has not gone our way this year, but we are not giving up. We will finish the games with pride, and we will pull one back.”

The men from Alice have an almost impossible task ahead of them, to beatcUniversity of Pretoria, Central University of Technology and Wits University, if they wish to finish in style, and have any hopes of reaching the semi’s.

The coach and the players need to dig deep, deeper than before and dig deeper than they have ever dug, if they are to end this long spell of losses.
