It was one-way traffic in Pretoria when Tuks faced UFH in their Round Six clash at a cold Tuks Stadium on Monday. The home side scored a record-breaking nine goals to one to keep their hopes of a semi-final alive.
Tuks were stunned early on as UFH grabbed the lead through Sindile Mlilo. The visitors started strongly and were rewarded for their efforts. But soon after that an unfortunate UFH own goal levelled matters for Tuks. It wouldn’t get much better for Tuks, as soon Mogau Khwinana handed the home side the lead shortly before Tiago da Serra headered home to make it 3-1.
The onslaught continued in the second half as Frank Mpedi let the charge. Two by him, before a goal by Mbongeni Masilela and it was soon 6-1. Mogau Khwinana added two to complete his hat-trick and Sego Mokgwope capped off a memorable night to make it 9-1 just before the final whistle.
The result left Tuks in third spot with a superior goal difference over rivals UJ.
