TUT are set to travel to North West province minus Godfrey Mahlale and Tumelo Mowa after the pair received red cards during the game against University of Johannesburg on Monday. However, despite the absence of Mowa and Mahlale, the Tshwane-based side has no shortage of talent and have other equally good players capable of helping TUT return home with the three points.

TUT defender, Sipho Sibiya says they have enough ammunition to help them claim victory against University of North West on Monday.

“It was sad to lose those two players (against UJ),” said Sibiya, “but we still have other capable players who are good enough.

“I have no doubt that they will grab the opportunity with both hands and help us get the three points against our opponents on Monday.”

The TUT defence is set to remain unchanged against NWU-Mafikeng with Dumsani Msibi reclaiming the number one jersey, whilst captain Elliot Seema is expected to lead the team from the back. Defender Sipho Sibiya remains a dangerman from set pieces and could cause havoc in NWU’s defence with his aerial power if left unmarked. It remains to be seen whether University of North West will break TUT’s unbeaten record in the Varsity Football tournament in 2016.

TUT travel to NWU-Mafikeng for their fifth round clash at NWU-Mafikeng Stadium on 15 August. Kickoff is at 19:00 and the match will be live on SuperSport 10.

TUT starting XI to face NWU-Mafikeng: Dumisani Msibi, Terrence Mashego, Thabang Masiteng, Collen Ribabu, Elliot Seema, Sipho Sibiya, Luthando Sibiya, Thabang Motau, Jacob Hlalele, Katlego Kgetjepe, Sibusiso Ndlovu

Subs: Lloyd Morulane. Thatohatsi Santos, Thabiso Sibisi, Elvis Mokiti, Tlotlo Mothibedi, Tumelo Mowa, Sakhile Mthembu
