1. History beckons for UP-Tuks
No team has gone through a Varsity Netball season unbeaten, but it will take a brave person to bet against Tuks going all the way in 2016. In 2013 Pukke and in 2014 Tuks lost their only match of the campaign in the final and last year the Kovsies’ unbeaten run was ended in the semi-final. Tuks are a balanced team with a couple of class players and they have depth in a number of positions.

2. Difference between Smal and Small
There seems to be quite confusion about the surname of UJ coach Leigh-Ann Smal, formerly Zackey. Not only is the surname of the former Proteas defender often being misspelled as Small, on Monday she was even called Leigh-Ann Small during a television interview.

3. Juline the new intercept queen
With Karla Mostert of Kovsies no longer playing Varsity Netball, Juline Rossouw, also a goal defender, must be the player who creates the most intercepts in the competition. VUT and Kovsies will be glad not having to face her this week due to national commitments in Durban.

4. Familiar with one another
Bianca Blom, goal attack of the Madibaz, and team mate Sibulele Mandeka who plays wing attack, are very comfortable with one another on the court. They played together at high school, Despatch High School, for three years.

5. And the role model of Nandipha Jack is…
Who needs a role model or hero if you can be it yourself? Asked who Nandipha Jack, wing attack and centre of the Madibaz, regards as her role model, she answered… Nandipha Jack!
