TUT made it three from three and kept their 100% record this tournament with an infallible 3-1 victory against UCT on Friday, 16 September at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds.

Both teams went into the encounter unbeaten and rested most of their key players as both teams had already qualified for semi-final stage.
TUT, though, were always going to be favourites and they showcased that right from the start.
Their no-frills approach helped TUT dominate the match and the red machine duly scored the first goal through enterprising play between Maphuthi Manamela and Bontle Mashilo. The latter stroked the ball into the net as UCT’s defence fell asleep.

The ladies from Pretoria doubled the score before the break when Salome Dikgale slotted the ball into the net with precision. It could have been even better but Salome Kekana missed her penalty with a disappointing kick straight into the grateful goalkeeper’s arms.

UCT had some chances to get back into the game, but they could not get their rhythm working against a gelled TUT side. The talented duo of Robyn Ausmeier and Katherine Atkinson was introduced in the latter stages, but it proved too little too late for UCT. Atkinson brought back some life with a successful penalty, but there would be no sting in the tail.

TUT will now wait to see who they face tomorrow in the semi-final which kicks off at 13:00.
